ISO 400?!

For some reason, all my recent pictures have been taken at ISO Equivalent 400, and I didn't notice it. I don't really see any difference in graininess between ISO 400 and ISO 100, though.

Is this a trait of Digital SLR's? That relatively high ISO settings really don't affect the picture quality that much? At ISO 400, which is the P10's maximum, I would get lots of grainy photos, and I'd notice the difference quite easily; with the D80, the difference seems invisible.
